Roomful vs Ticket Tailor: an honest comparison

Ticket Tailor is the platform we are most often compared to, and unlike most comparisons this one is close. They charge a small flat fee per ticket rather than a percentage, which already makes them dramatically cheaper than the big platforms for anything above a few pounds a ticket.

So this page is not going to pretend they are expensive. If all you need is to sell tickets cheaply, they are a good product and you would not be wrong to use them. What follows is where the two genuinely differ.

What Ticket Tailor does well

  • Their pricing is honest and easy to understand — a flat fee per ticket, no percentage, and no nasty surprise as your event grows.
  • They have been doing this a long time, the product is stable, and their support has a good reputation.
  • Like us, they let ticket money go straight into your own Stripe or PayPal account rather than holding it until after the event.
  • For a single straightforward paid event with no extras, the price difference between us is small in absolute terms.

Why organisers move to Roomful

  • The per-ticket fee is small but it never stops. At 0% commission the gap compounds across a year of events rather than a single night.
  • Roomful is a booking system underneath, not only a ticket shop — the same account handles memberships, courses, appointments and recurring sessions if your events ever become a programme.
  • Everything on Roomful is reachable by an AI assistant that can take bookings, answer guest questions and handle changes, on both the guest and the organiser side.

FAQ

The questions everyone asks.

Is Roomful actually cheaper than Ticket Tailor?

On ticket fees, yes — we charge 0% commission and no per-ticket fee, where Ticket Tailor charges a flat fee per ticket on pay as you go. In absolute terms the difference on one small event is modest; across a year of events it adds up. Both of you pay Stripe's card processing either way, and pre-purchased credit lowers their per-ticket rate.

Do my guests pay a booking fee on Roomful?

No. Your guests pay the price on the ticket and nothing else — no booking fee, service fee or per-order fee.

What does Roomful do that Ticket Tailor does not?

Roomful is a full booking system, so the same account also handles memberships, courses, appointments and recurring sessions, and everything in it is reachable by an AI assistant that can take bookings and answer guest questions. If you only ever sell tickets to one-off events, that may genuinely not matter to you.

Is there a catch to 0% commission?

No commission on ticket sales, unlimited. Card processing is typically 1.5% + 20p for UK cards and is taken by Stripe, not by us. We make our money from optional paid features rather than from your ticket sales.

Can I keep using my own Stripe account?

Yes, and you should — ticket money goes straight into your Stripe account from the first sale, exactly as it does on Ticket Tailor.
